The band have had a great couple of events to start off 2023 and we are looking forward to a busy year ahead.
In January, HotScotch were at Glenalmond College in Perthshire to play for the Sixth Form Burns Ceilidh. The students were put through their paces with a range of dances including favourites such as the Eightsome Reel and Reel of the 51st and it was brilliant to see the whole gym hall full of enthusiastic dancers enjoying themselves.
We then were at Turnhouse Golf Club for another Burns themed ceilidh night for the golf club members. Located on the west side of Edinburgh, close to
Edinburgh International Airport, Turnhouse Golf Club has excellent views of the Pentland Hills to the south with Fife and the Ochills to the north.
There were a lovely audience of guests along for the evening and they enjoyed the ceilidh dancing with popular dances like, the Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Strip the Willow, Military Two-Step and Virginia Reel. The was some sumptuous Haggis, Neeps and Tatties served at the break and then we finished off the ceilidh with an Orcadian Strip the Willow, before a little bit of disco for the last part of the evening.
Next month we have ceilidhs in Edinburgh and Fife, and another return to the Edinburgh Ceilidh Club at Summerhall on Tuesday 21st of February. Always a fantastic night, with a mix of regular and visiting dancers, the weekly ceilidhs are very popular. Tickets are available in advance and usually sell out prior to the date.
