On Saturday 26th November, HotScotch Ceilidh Band played for an outdoor ceilidh at the Ross Bandstand in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens as part of the official Edinburgh Christmas Festival.
This event was free to to the public, and began with a set from "The Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience" led by accordionist Sandy Brechin. HotScotch then played for the second half of the afternoon and a brilliant crowd listened to the band and danced on the concourse. A great mixture of ages were able to take part with accordionist Paul Chamberlain doing the calling for the dances. The band finished off with a huge Orcadian Strip the Willow. The band on Saturday were Paul Chamberlain - Accordion, Morag Brown - Fiddle and Jim Walker - Drums.
Edinburgh traditionally has a large Christmas Festival including a Christmas Market, Hot Food and Mulled Wine Stalls, an Outdoor Ice Skating Rink, Funfair, Live Music, Ferris Wheel, Santa Land and many more attractions and events.
The band played for another event later that evening at Merchiston Castle School for their 5th Form Highland Ball, which took place in the wonderful setting of the Memorial Hall within the school.
