A sell-out crowd took to the floor to celebrate the end of 2024 and start of the new year, with a pause at mightnight for the countdown and piper, bfore getting back to the dancing until 1am. Due to the bad weather leading up to the 31st of December in Edinburgh, many events celebrating the new year were cancelled, but The Hogmanay Ceilidh XL was safe from the storms and a wonderful night of dancing ensued, with a full range of scottish ceilidh dances such as, The Dashing White Sergeant, Military Two-step, Canadian Barn Dance, Cumberland Square Eight, Circassian Circle, Eightsome Reel, Pride of Erin Waltz,

Virginia Reel, Strip the Willow, Hooligan's Jig, Gay Gordons, St Bernards Waltz, Flying Scotsman, and the Borrowdale Exchange amongst many others.
